Femi Akinnagbe, MD
Dr. Femi Akinnagbe is a California-licensed physician and board certified in family medicine with certifications in yoga and meditation. His experience includes organizing community health fairs for Lomita’s Summer Urban Health Fellowship as well as an international conference of integrative medicine healers, assisting in the development of a nationally recognized well-being curriculum focused on resident physician wellness, and conducting international field research on mind-body medicine.
Dr. Akinnagbe holds a degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He graduated magna cum laude from both Georgetown University, where he studied physiology, biophysics, and complementary and alternative medicine, and Messiah College, where he studied elementary education. He completed his residency in family medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Before entering medical school, he was an elementary school teacher and believes teaching is a lifelong calling. His dedication to education has seamlessly carried over into his medical practice, where he views every patient interaction as an opportunity to teach and empower them with knowledge.
Dr. Akinnagbe is a member of the Gold Humanism Honors Society for fostering humanism in medicine and the proud recipient of the American Academy of Family Physicians Innovations Grant, teaching yoga and meditation to underserved communities in North Minneapolis. He is the recipient of the Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Residents and Fellows Award, awarded by UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine’s student body to exceptional mentors who are making ongoing contributions to the clinical training of medical students.

Laura Akinnagbe, NP
Laura Akinnagbe is a nurse practitioner and a proud registered nurse. She holds a national board certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner.
Her experience includes oncology, hospice and palliative care nursing at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She worked with a variety of oncology patients, from solid tumors to leukemias and bone marrow transplant patients.
Laura participated in a variety of educational and quality-control measures at Cedars-Sinai. She took audits of neutropenic and central line precautions. She also participated in Cedars-Sinai’s Nurse for a Day program, in which first-year resident physicians are paired with a nurse to experience a “day in the life” of a nurse. She served as a preceptor for new graduate and new hire RNs, orienting them to the hospital and the care of oncology and end-of-life patients.
Laura graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations. She completed a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles. She has completed a Post-Master’s Certificate in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program from Charles Drew University.
Prior to becoming a nurse, Laura worked in public relations and marketing for brands including Disney Consumer Products, the U.S. Army, and Univision Radio.
